Like many streets in Aix-en-Provence, rue Gaston de Saporta is lined with old buildings that reflect traditional Provencal architecture. It's a typical example of the charming architecture to be found in the city's historic center. This street runs from the town hall and belfry to the Cathédrale Saint Sauveur. It is home to the Hôtel de Châteaurenard, famous for having housed Louis XIV in 1660, and the Hôtel d'Estienne de Saint-Jean, now the Musée du Vieil Aix, at number 17.
