At the bottom of rue Espariat is the Fontaine des Augustins. The Fontaine des Augustins was erected in the 17th century by the Pénitents Blancs brotherhood in honor of Saint Augustin. It bears witness to the religious devotion that once animated our community. At the time, this fountain was not only a place of contemplation, but also a vital source of drinking water for our fellow citizens. Imagine yourselves here in the 17th century, gathered around this fountain to draw fresh water and discuss the events of the day. It was the beating heart of our community. Now, if you take a closer look at this fountain, you'll notice its magnificent Provençal Renaissance architecture. The cut stone and sculpted details add a touch of grace to the place.
